I am so excited to share this post with you guys today! The highly anticipated release of Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk lipstick is here and has arrived expertly to my house! And by expertly I mean it was hand delivered to my door two days after ordering online. Completely first class service, but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Charlotte Tilbury!
If you don’t know, Charlotte Tilbury is a celebrity makeup artist that launched her own brand a few years ago. She is absolutely fabulous in her Britishness and calls everyone “darling” in a totally believable way. Google it. Her brand is just as fabulous and luxurious as herself with a legion of fans around the world. One of her most popular products is her Lip Cheat Lip Liner in Pillow Talk. It has been a favourite lip liner of a bevy of YouTube “darlings” and my own since it’s release. And now finally, Charlotte has released Pillow Talk in lipstick form. Lipstick lovers rejoice!
Now of course, me being me, I couldn’t just order one thing from her site. That’s just silly. I couldn’t go too crazy though or I would have to auction off some body parts. This stuff is EX-PEN-SIVE! So, for now, I limited it to one other lipstick and a brow gel. And the result: a happy girl.
I ended up choosing the Matte Revolution Lipstick in Pillow Talk, K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Coachella Coral and Legendary Brows in Clear. Pillow Talk for the afore-mentioned obvious reasons, the coral shade because damn it’s beautiful and the brow gel because I have been on the hunt for the perfect non-flaky one.
This is Pillow Talk. I know this gets said a lot in beauty land but it truly is a your-lips-but-better shade. I don’t get along with pale nude lipsticks very well, I feel very washed out and need, at the very least, a hint of colour. For me Pillow Talk is my perfect nude shade. The Matte Revolution finish is still very creamy and feels comfortable and moisturizing on the lips. It’s not a “Sierra desert” stay-all-day-matte-liquid-lipstick which I feel ages my lips big time. It’s beautiful on its own or paired with the lip liner or with a pink sparkly gloss over top.
Coachella Coral is that bright pop of colour to reach for when you need a pick-me-up. It practically glows with brightness and feels so nourishing on the lips. Although, I wouldn’t really describe it as a true coral on myself, I still absolutely adore this shade. On the website they have several different models wearing this colour and you can see, the darker your skin tone the more coral this shade looks. That is something I love about Charlotte’s website, being able to see it on a model instead of just seeing the lipstick in the tube. I can already predict I will be getting a lot of use out of this lipstick once spring and summer roll around!
How cute is this brow gel! I have been looking for the perfect brow gel for so long and had really high hopes for this one. And let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint! I wanted a brow gel that held my brows in shape, that didn’t give me brow-dandruff half-way through the day and that still left my brows feeling soft. There is nothing worse than being aware of your brows all day because they are cemented to your forehead! I know it’s a hefty check list, but Legendary Brows succeeded in fulfilling my high expectations.
I wanted to get the Legendary Brows in the tinted form but was unsure what colour to go for. Because I have blonde hair and dark brows it’s hard to know which way to go. On one hand I don’t want my brows to look too dark and on the other hand, I don’t want the shade I pick to be too light for my actual brow hairs. Although, I will get the chance next month to go to Nordstrom’s in Vancouver where they have a real live Charlotte Tilbury counter. So you can be sure I will be getting some advice and picking up some tinted gel and more Tilbury Treasures!
