Easy Creamy Avocado Dressing

I have a quickie post for you guys today for a super easy creamy avocado dressing. Excellent for a salad that you can whip up in a hurry for a fast lunch and as a bonus – it’s also really good for you! Full of veg and healthy fats that will keep you and your tummy happy well into the afternoon. Pair it with a side of lean protein and you couldn’t ask for a more well-balanced meal.

This tasty dressing would also be amazing as a topping on fish, chicken or baked sweet potatoes. It’s a great, easy staple to keep in your back pocket to jazz up your meals. But for now I’ll walk you through the way I’ve been devouring it lately – on a gigantic salad!

First, I’ll chop up a whole head of romaine and throw it on a plate. The crunchiness of the romaine really holds up well to the creamy dressing. Pretty easy so far, right?!

Then, I’ll add whatever other fresh vegetables I have on hand. I really like a lot of crunchy veg like snap-peas, peppers and cucumbers. More crunch equals a more satisfying meal in my book. I also love throwing on some pickled beets or olives to amp up the flavour!

Now for the main event……… the dressing! Mash half of a ripe avocado into a bowl and add a squeeze of lemon. I usually cut my lemons into quarters and just use one of them.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Next, I’ll add a capful of apple cider vinegar, which works out to be about a two teaspoons. Make sure to get an apple cider vinegar with the “mother”, so you can reap all of its good bacteria and enzyme benefits. I’ll link a little info about ACV here.

To add even more flavour I generously grind in some seasonings. This is hands down my favourite combo of chilli, garlic and sea salt. Now all you have to do is mix together your dressing, then toss into your salad.

Top with pepitas or sunflower seeds and you’re all set to dig in. And to make you feel even better about this salad – Did you know that a little added fat with your salad actually helps you to absorb more nutrients from your vegetables? And with avocado as your fat source, it’s a win-win all around!

Easy Creamy Avocado Dressing


  • Half of a ripe avocado
  • The juice of a quarter of a lemon
  • 2 teaspoons of apple cider vinegar
  • Season to taste with a chilli, garlic and sea salt mix or use your favourite seasoning


  • Mash the avocado in a bowl with a fork
  • Add the lemon juice, apple cider vinegar and seasonings and mix well
  • Use on salads, top grilled chicken or fish or add it to roasted veggies. A super simple and delicious addition to any meal. Enjoy!
