February is almost up and you know what that means! Spring is right around the corner and more importantly, it’s February Beauty Favourites time! A post all about the products that I reached for constantly and really stood out to me this past month. We got some skin savers, glow getters and three knock-your-socks-off lippies that will have you cruising into spring with a bounce in your step!
Not so long ago I did little post about these Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks in Pillow Talk and Coachella Coral. I will link that here and you can check out my full fan-girl review on them. It’s been a few weeks since I wrote that post and I have fallen even more in love with these two. Pillow Talk is the perfect everyday lip shade and Coachella Coral gives you that perfect punch of colour that will elevate your mood and your day instantly. No joke.
The fam and I went to Disneyland in December and whilst there I was lucky enough to visit an American Sephora. It was actually directly below my hotel room and it beckoned me constantly. “Come on down, by a shit-ton of makeup” it would say. If you’re Canadian you know that American stores generally have better selection when it comes to products and this Sephora was no exception.
The Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet was just one of those said products that I had heard so many rave reviews about but just couldn’t get my hands on up here in the north. It is without a doubt the most comfortable, light-weight, long wear lipstick that I have ever tried. The formula is super thin and doesn’t feel overly drying. The shade I have is 505 – Second Skin and it’s described as a vibrant rose colour. It’s a bold, bright colour that works great for a night out because you don’t have to worry about reapplying. Never have I received as many compliments about my lip colour than I’ve had with this one.
I’m not sure if it’s from stress or dairy or the fact that I’m trying new makeup all the time, but this past month has been breakout city over here. I’m currently in the process of trying to find the root cause of the problem by eliminating things from my diet and switching up my makeup. Until I nail it down, I’m having to treat what I currently have. I still love my Kate Sommerville EradiKate (read more on that here), but I couldn’t help being curious about these blemish dots.
The Peter Thomas Roth Blemish-Clear Invisible Dots are infused with pimple clearing ingredients that visibly reduce the size of spots overnight. I am impressed with how well they calmed my “situations” down and that they actually prevented a few from developing. Although, there is still no miracle product out there that I have found, these do help considerably.
The Antipodes Manuka Honey Mask has a cult following for its natural, skin healing properties. And unlike other blemish clearing masks it’s very moisturizing and soothing to the skin. I’ve been using it weekly for the last month to calm my sensitive skin and to speed healing time of my spots. Antipodes is available at our new Whole Foods Market here in Victoria and I can’t wait to try more products from the brand!
I have to admit, I was drawn to this eye cream mostly because of the name – Eye Dew, I mean c’mon, that’s genius! It made me feel like I was going to have the most hydrated, plumped eye area out there. And you know what? – it delivers just that! I apply this morning and night around my whole eye area (upper lid and under-eye) and it moisturizes and plumps without irritating at all. Farmacy Eye Dew Total Eye Cream.
Clarins Glow Booster is a really different, cool product. It’s a very subtle self tan that you add in to your everyday face cream. Just mix 3 drops into your moisturizer and apply as you normally would for a little added glow. It’s also buildable allowing you to reach your perfect level of bronzed in just a few short days. At this time of year I apply it whenever I need to give my pale face some life.
RMS Living Luminizer is the most natural looking highlighter that you will ever find. It melts into the skin and gives you a glow instead of glitter. Simply tap onto the high points of your face for a youthful, believable radiance. The brands organic, non-toxic philosophy makes this a no-brainer choice to add to your beauty repertoire. I highly encourage you to have a little read about RMS, you will love the simplistic beauty of the brand.
