September Beauty Favourites 2017

I hope this post is finding you embracing our new fall season! It can be hard to let go of summer, believe me I know. Summer is my absolute favourite. Although, I do enjoy this transition month of September a whole lot too. It has always felt like the start of a new year to me. Where you get to pick up your boot straps and start again. So in that spirit I hope to bring you lots of new and exciting (there may be changes afoot) content this year, starting with my September Beauty Favourites!

klorane dry shampoo

Klorane Dry Shampoo

This is one of the best dry shampoos that I have ever tried. It’s really unlike any other. It leaves my hair looking and feeling super clean without leaving any trace of itself behind. Completely different from Batiste for example, which can make my hair feel sticky and difficult to run my fingers through. This stuff just simply soaks up any greasiness and then poof it’s gone with a swipe of a brush.

So if you’re looking for a dry shampoo that just cleans and doesn’t add grit, then this is your guy!

Phillip Adam Lotion

Phillip Adam Lotion in original coconut

In my experience it can be difficult to find an affordable, all natural body lotion that’s actually effective. One that sinks into the skin quickly while also feeling really moisturizing. Which is something that most of us look for in our daily moisturizer. For starters you want to be able to get dressed in a timely manner and not have to wait an eternity for the tackiness to go away. You also want something that makes your skin feel amazing and keeps it that way all day.

So I was super excited to find an all natural, not overly expensive, free of practically everything and made in Canada lotion that’s honestly really amazing! The Phillip Adam lotion ticks all the boxes for a solid everyday body lotion. Also, it feels really good to be using a lotion that’s on the more natural side when you’re slathering it over a big surface area everyday.

If you’re in the Victoria area you can find it at Lifestyle Markets.

hollywood lips duo

Hollywood Lips in Dolly Bird

Ohhh boy! I’m having a love affair with everything Charlotte Tilbury at the moment. Well, for longer than a moment actually. She just does this makeup thing so right! Except for her mascaras, but that’s a tale for another time. For now I would love to tell you about her new long-lasting lipstick!

Dolly Bird is a very cool shade of pink, meaning it doesn’t have a warm pink tone. It’s a very flattering, wearable shade that can be hard to find in the rows and rows of pink lipsticks. The formula has mousse¬†texture that makes it much easier to apply than a liquid formula. I also think this texture and formula makes it less drying than most long-last lipsticks. It does dry down fairly matte but still feels very comfortable on the lips.

It’s the perfect everyday pink shade that will flatter everyone.

Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl

Lip Lustre in Portobello Girl

This gloss is the perfect juicy topper to almost every shade of lipstick that I own. It’s a very sheer pink that adds a boost of hydration to the lips or will tame bold lip colours. I’ve been loving it over Dolly Bird and Coachella Coral all month-long. A must have in your makeup collection! Check out the post where I talk about Coachella Coral here.Healthy Glow duo

Unisex Healthy Glow Hydrating Tint

I had originally received a sample of the Healthy Glow in a previous Charlotte order and was so blown away I immediately ordered the full size. If you’ve been reading my blogs for a while you will know how much I like a very natural base for everyday. And this product absolutely delivers with some added oomph! It’s true to its name in that you get a glow and a realistic tanned effect. It also evens out the skin very nicely without looking or feeling like you have very much makeup on at all.

It’s similar to an Origins product that came out a few years ago – Ginzing Daily Tinted Moisturizer. They both come out of the tube looking like a white moisturizer then the pigments are revealed once blended into the skin. The Healthy Glow is far superior in my opinion in terms of coverage, shine and colour match. Ginzing always ended up being far too shiny and orange looking for my skin tone. So, if you’ve tried Ginzing and had the same experience but still liked the concept, give Healthy Glow a whirl. I’m confident you won’t be disappointed.

I have not been able to put it down since I got it and have been loving my healthy summer glow well into fall.

healthy glow and dolly bird on me

Here’s me wearing Healthy Glow and Dolly Bird! As you can see this is not a foundation and you can still see my skin through the product. Personally I love the tanned, glowing and natural effect!

I would love to hear about some of your favourites from the month of September. Leave some in the comments below! xo
